Birthday Celebrations!

Good morning/afternoon everyone,

I hope all is having a wonderful Easter weekend.  So far mine has been good.  We just had our big Easter/Birthday dinner yesterday evening, and it was a lot fun.  We had a huge gathering for my family and my husband family.  The funny thing was that I did not feel like cooking a big turkey or a big ham.  I was getting tired of them as we had them on Thanksgiving, and during Christmas time.

So just to stir up things a bit my menu consists of:

Green Salad with Goat Cheese and Raspberry Vinegarette Dressing
Orange Chicken Wings
Spring Rolls
Cheese Chives Biscuit

Rice Pilaf
Malaysian Shiska-bob
Spicy Chicken Noodle
Mom’s specialty noodle

Cheese Baked Cauliflower and Broccoli
Baked Butter Asparagus
Persian Skewers

Lemon Meringue Pie
Diplomat Three Tier Cake

In honesty you may think that this is a lot of food and was wondering how many people.  In total, between my family and Stuart’s, 20 pp plus my friend Brenda and her two children.  Leftover, nah, just the rice and the spicy chicken noodle.  Tonight, my brother and sister are gathering at my home again to eat some of the leftovers.  I told them that I got creative with the spicy chicken noodles.  I added a chicken broth soup base into the noodle and had it for brunch.  It tasted like Thai food so that is part of the dinner.  With the rice pilaf, probably will change that into chicken rice soup shortly.

Anyways, as indicated, we had celebrated some birthdays.  In my earlier post, my son Ryan turned 16.  My sister, Patsy Guertler who is also a SU rep, made this card for Ryan.  She is so talented.

Behind the cupcake is an opening.  She place a tag that says “happy birthday” and attached some money for him.  I love the color combination.  Just gorgeous.

On April 8, my brother-in-law Tony turned 44.  Here is a card that I made for him.  Of course this is not the original.  I had to reduplicate it and take a picture before it goes to my friend Dee Wedman (I hope she likes it … this may be her last).  Dee is fighting terminal cancer.

Here is the inside of the card.  When you open it, out pops the birthday cake.  This our new SU cake die.

Paper: Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Whisper White

Stamp: A Little Bird Told Me

Accessories: Sticky Tape, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way Glue, Scallop Punch

And April 26 will be my birthday.  My sister made this card for me.

Wow, this is a long post.  I appreciate all your comments, and thanks for looking ~ Liz!
