I received an email from my sister who is throwing a surprise 40th party for her husband. Even though he does not want a 40th birthday party, like she says, you only turn 40 once and I totally agree with her.
As this week is the best time to play, no kids and no husband for 5 hours during the day, I thought I would play with the 3-D tier cake die cut again. I find that masculine cards are the hardest card to make as each individual are to its own kind. With Rod, I know for a fact that on his spare time he puts around his garden and plays golf whenever possible. So using the And Many Mowers stamp set, I think this card would be perfect for him. Here is the front I created.
Yes, there are actually 40 candles on the inside. The surroundings were covered with the Urban Oasis DP (all three layers). 20 candles on the bottom layer and 20 candles on the middle layer. I cut a 1/4″ strip of creamy caramel. On the back side, using the sticky red tape to whole length of the creamy caramel, and then add the candles, alternating with the wasabi green and the rose red CS. I then added another sticky red tape on top of the candles to secure them as well as adhering the string of candles to the cake tiers. The top tier was stamped with the number “40” and cut out.
