Stamps: Fresh Cut

Inks: Brown

Papers: Crushed Curry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Match Box, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch

As promised to my clients and to share with you, the Twist Box instructions:

You will need:

Cardstock size: 7 3/8″ x 7 3/4″

1/2″ circle punch

Red Sticky Tape

Bone Folder

Scor-Pal / Scor-It

On the 7 3/4″ side, score at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″ and 7″.  Rotate 90 degree, and score at 1 3/4″ on both short edges.  At each square formed by the score lines, score an “X” on each square.  On each of the “X”, from the middle of the “X” to the edge of the paper, score a line down the center.  (See diagram – click on image to enlarge).

Fold all score lines, ensuring they are all creased well (creased well: fold forward and backward on each score lines).  This will make your twist easier.

Fold along your long fold line.  Take your 1/2″ circle punch and punch a half circle on center on each square.  You can only punch through two layers of cardstock.  Before you adhere the tape to the other side, ensure that you have punch one edge.

Apply sticky tape on the 3/4″ side of the cardstock.   Fold your tape side in.  Fold the cardstock over the tape.  You now have a rectangular box formed.  Take your punch and punch the tape end.

Take one end, you are going to PULL, PUSH, TWIST those ends toward the center and SMUSH the top down.  The initial pull, push, twist and smush make take some work before it folds easily.

Repeat on the second side.  Put your gift ideas inside, and decorate as needed.  With the band I used Razzleberry DSP.  Cut strip to 2″ x 8″.

Finish size: 4 1/2″ x 1 3/4″

For a smaller twist box,

Cut cardstock to 6 3/8″ x 5 1/2″.  Score on the long side at 1-1/2″, 3″, 4-1/2″ and 6″.  Rotate cardstock 90 degree and score at 1 1/2″.  Repeat as noted above.
